Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this fantastic survivor 1981 Trans Am which is in superb overall condition with very low actual miles of 35,405. This car drives like new as only a very low mile car can. This TA is from The west coast, Washington State, and has had 3 owners since new. Every oil change from new and every yearly registration from new have been retained by 3 meticulous owners. The original 305 engine remains in the car and the vin on the engine block is numbers matching as well as the four speed manual transmission being numbers matching. This TA features beautiful original Maroon paint, an original mint Black interior, the original 305 engine and 4 speed transmission, and numerous original dealer documents and brochures. This TA is very solid with great lines and gaps. There is no rust or rust repairs and no bubbling or cracked paint. The underside is extremely solid with no rust or corrosion issues and no patches or repairs. This TA is finished in the desirable color combinations of Autumn Maroon over Black Deluxe interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and build sheet pictured above. The clean car fax shows the miles as actual as does the current car title and numerous receipts throughout the years. This TA was awarded 86.5 points out of 100 total points at the Trans AM Nationals in 2023, see included judging sheets. This is a very good score for this class as most cars in the class were restored cars and several were frame off rotisserie restored cars. Service records going back to 1984 are included along with insurance cards and emission results going back to new.
Exterior
The Maroon exterior is in fantastic mostly original condition. This TA has great paint with original decals. The believed to be mostly original paint is in excellent overall condition for its age with no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape. There is no bubbling paint anywhere on the body of this car. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have full tread left and are 4 years old and sized 255/60/15 and the 15" snowflake wheels are in like new condition. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good original condition. Trunk is very solid and clean and factory correct with the original trunk mat, original spare tire and jack, and the original t top bags. The underside of this TA is exceptionally solid with no rust issues or concerns and no patches or repairs. New front and rear sway bars were added and new front springs were added.
Interior
The Black deluxe interior of this TA is in terrific mostly original condition. The original seat covers are in spectacular condition with no noticeable wear or fading or seam splits. These are factory original covers not some cheap aftermarket covers. The carpet was recently replaced and in new condition with no stains, rips, or holes and is in excellent condition. The original dash is in like new condition with no cracks or warping or fading and the original plastic pieces are still under the metal A pillar trim pieces. The engine turned dash bezel is like new as well and correct and looks beautiful in the car. The stereo was upgraded to a digital Alpine CD unit decades ago and works great and sounds excellent. The original door panels are in excellent condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray are both in great condition. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter. The horn, all gauges, stereo, wipers, rear defrost, and blower motor all work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. It actually still smells new inside the car. The clock works and keeps accurate time which is rarely seen in these cars.
Mechanical
This TA is in exceptional mechanical condition and the original 305 engine is still in the car with matching vin number, see photo. This engine runs very well and the car performs nicely. This TA drives like new with surprising power and the handling is superior being a factory ws6 car. An upgraded performance dual exhaust fits under this TA and gives this car a muscle car rumble at idle and cruising speeds. Ceramic coated headers were added as well. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive. This TA is a spectacular driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time and runs well. The factory 4 wheel disc brakes do not pull and stop as they should. A new alternator and battery were recently added. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. I have driven this car on numerous road trips and to several far away car shows with no issues. Its an overall fantastic car that looks and shows well and always gets complimentary attention.
